Tan Turtle Tavern - Visit 2

The Tan Turtle Tavern has such a large menu one wonders how they can possibly do it all well. Here are the results of our second visit.

Drink: TTT Black and Tan - Excellent!

Kid's Grilled Cheese - Excellent! Great bread.

Voodoo Fish Sandwich - Excellent! Great bun.

Chicken Pot Pie - So So. Very watery, soup-like "chicken stew". Menu claimed 'seasonal veggies' but the reality its was frozen peas and carrots.

We like the place, it's just a matter of figuring out what they do well (any fish dish seems like a safe bet) and what to avoid.

My husband and I visited the area during our anniversary weekend camping and spotted the TTT in the dining brochure. We thought the advertisement had quite an extensive selection and we were sold on a great burger. We had no idea what we were in for when we arrived. Needless to say of the thousands of selections that were on the enormous menu, we did not get a burger. How could we?
He had the Fish2 selection of Mahi Mahi with Turtle Fries. I had my favorite chicken strips and the coleslaw was the best we've had.
We bought Tshirts to help spread the word about this wonderful place to eat in small, but quaint Northeast Harbor.
We will definitely return, maybe next time with the kids.
